About me:
Hello! I’m Beth, and I’ve been working at Kenwood since July 2023. I’ve worked with children for almost nine years and have experience with ages 0–11. I knew early on that I wanted to work with young children, so after leaving school, I began studying for my Level 3 Child Development qualification at college. I then went on to complete a degree in Childhood Studies at Sheffield Hallam University.
In 2024, I completed my Level 3 Forest School qualification. I’ve always been fascinated by the Forest School ethos—I love the idea of children growing and learning in environments beyond traditional childcare settings. One of my favourite parts of working in a Forest School is watching children learn in a completely different way and seeing them develop a deep respect for the outdoors. I truly believe outdoor education gives children the freedom to express themselves and use their imaginations to the fullest. I can happily say—I love my job.
Outside of work, I love travelling. I spent a few months in 2023 exploring Australia and Thailand, which was an amazing experience, and I definitely hope to travel more in the future. I also enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I’ve made so many great friends through working in childcare, and I love spending time with them outside of work too.
