About Me
I first discovered Forest Schools during my studies at University. I loved the idea of freeing children from the restraints of standard educational settings and providing a platform for them to develop in ways that other settings cannot offer. The Forest Schools Kindergarten ethos represents everything I believe in and I did not have to think twice about starting my career in childcare here.
I began my journey with Forest Schools Kindergarten in April 2016 at Middlewood Nature Nursery. I joined a small staff team who gave me a lot of support and mentorship and helped push me into contention for new roles and opportunities within the company. In May 2017 I left Middlewood to help set up Kenwood Nature Nursery. This gave me the opportunity to open up my own room for the first time and watch it develop from the ground up. Through working at Forest Schools Kindergarten, I have met some great people who I have been able to watch and learn from along the way.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family and catching up on sleep. Since I was a child I have spent my weekends following Sheffield Wednesday FC which has given me a moderate amount of highs and many lows over the years. This has helped shape my character and has given me a huge amount of patience and a sense of humour that I will carry with me forever.
